Grower Intro "Koch Family Farm" (GER)

Its time to start introducing the growers of this years "Hay Year".

The Koch family from Eberbach, natural and traditional farming with livestock

We would like to start with the Koch Family Farm from Germany and who could introduce it better than Leon Koch, farm founder himself:

"We farm on as little land as possible, we are small-scale farmers. That's why draft cattle play a particularly important role for us.

We use them to produce our hay and firewood and are as self-sufficient as possible.

In the south german low mountain range 'Odenwald', we farm on marginal land, where only specialized machinery can work. We rely on cows and oxen to work with. We are the last cowherdspeople in Germany to herd cows with the help of the endangered herding dogbreed 'Westerwälder Kuhhund'. For haymaking, we rely on haystacks, hay racks and normal ground drying."

We are happy to have the Koch Family on board and are very much looking forward to their regular hay reports.
