Most of our growers have already sown their wheat last autumn. Now in January, the fields are in a very different state and in the collage below it becomes clear how wide the range of climate and weather conditions is in the different regions which the project covers.
From the current minus 20° Celsius in some parts of North America to spring-like temperatures in some parts of Germany, conditions vary widely. Naturally, this also has an impact on wheat health and weed pressure on the fields. For example, in the absence of a protective snow cover, wheat in its young growth stage is relatively defenceless against animal damage and also other problems. In the coming weeks, some of these aspects will therefore be presented in more detail. In this respect: stay tuned!
